KREWE DU LAC PRESENTS MARDI GRAS KEMAH STYLE
KEMAH, TEXAS - Krewe du Lac announces the 2008 Mardi Gras season celebrating Pirates of The Gulf Coast "This is our eighth year and turning out to be our biggest yet" said Annabelle Ruch, Event Director.
Sunday afternoon the Krewe pushs off from the Endeavour Marina in Seabrook for the traditional paddlewheel cruise aboard The Spirit of Texas. The three hour sunset cruise make numerous passes in front of the Kemah Boardwalk to throw beads and tokens to the delight of the patrons. Live music, festive beverages and traditions food rounds out the celebration.
Saturday, February 2 starts with a bang as the Galloway School's Galloway Gallop Fun Run fills the streets of Kemah with hundreds of runners in 1k, 5k & 10k races. The post-race party is a fun-filled family Mardi Gras celebration. www.thegallowayschool.org
Also, Saturday, February 2 the Stargazer Yacht will glisten for the Krewe du Lac Royal Ball as part of the Yachty Gras parade. The Royal Court is presented at the black tie/costume gala. Guests dance the night away, enjoy a cajun dinner and sip beverages. Hundreds of families line the Kemah Boardwalk for the annual Yachty Gras parade. Tickets are available to the Krewe and general public. Party goes must be at least 18.
Sunday, February 3, families are invited to join the Kemah Krewe du Lac Truck parade. The parade begins in back of T Bone Tom's and winds through the Kemah Lighthouse district. Immediately following is Mardi Pardi at T Bone's with live music, a costume contest and family fun! Parade registration and admission to the party is free. Lots of family fun!!
